Optimism vs. Pessimism

Recently I attended training on Personal Effectiveness in my company. We discussed the various aspects of Optimism and Pessimism. It was a great learning and I would like to share the insight of it.

How will you read the following statement?
“GODISNOWHERE”

Well, it totally depends upon the individual reading it. An optimist will read “God is now here”, however the pessimist will read it as God is no where. It’s our state of mind which decides our reaction to any situation. It’s up to us to be optimistic and have positive energy to do things or to opt for pessimism and don’t even start that thing. Its merely a matter of choice. It has been found that Optimistic people live happier and longer life then a pessimist people. They are full of hope and they work hard to achieve their goals. On the other hand Pessimism leads to negativity. People lost even before trying anything. These people lacks in self confidence and usually live a life full of guilt and grudge.

Being optimist doesn’t mean that you should be overconfident in everything you do. However you should trust yourself and belief in God. Remember excess of anything is bad and excess strength become weakness in long run. Every lock has its key, we just need to find out which is the right one. And it’s not necessary to be optimistic always, sometimes pessimism also helps. Try to be optimistic in 90% of your job. Things always happen for a reason. Don’t show a reptile behavior of fight or flight. We are human beings and God has given us a brain with one hundred billion nerve cells and its complexity. Utilize it in your life. Think about the problem and face it. Don’t forget what you give will come back to you. Positive things happen to positive people.

Jim Rohn  said, “I found that when you start thinking and saying what you really want then your mind automatically shifts and pulls you in that direction. And sometimes it can be that simple, just a little twist in vocabulary that illustrates your attitude and philosophy.”
