It's amazing how you Can speak right to my heart...

The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me.
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fall.
You say it best when you say nothing at all...

Thank you God..

Sitting in a silent room in Thailand, I can hear my heartbeat saying numerous things to me. The year 2012 was not a good year for me. I saw my father in two of the worst situation. He got an heart attack in June followed by a stomach cancer in October. I salute my dad for standing strong and sailing in the winds of distress. All thanks to almighty who did all good to us and now he is recovering with his all strong will power It was difficult or rather extremely painful to see your building block in such situation. I would have never imagined that anything would ever happen to my superhero. I am extremely thankful to God for doing favors to us. I pray to him for his fastest recovery..Love you Pappa

Get Well Soon..Friend

Recently one of my close friend undergone shoulder dislocation surgery. The whole event helped me to learn several aspects of human life and my social responsibilities. Being a doctor's daughter hospital is always another place for me. I mean its not frightening place for me. OT and hospital wards all are just familiar words and things for me. I don’t feel awkward dealing with the hospital staff. But I had never been to this situation.

I met this guy in my company and we worked for same project for almost a year. Because of same interest and like thinking we became good friends in short period of time. Fortunately his wife invited me for lunch one day and we also become good friends. It was just as good as the feeling when I met ruchita and we become friends.

Coming back to the main topic. The operation was done by a specialist of very renowned Hospital of India. My father only told us about the hospital. Although looking after the services and hospitality I still feel that my father’s govt hospital was much much better in all senses. He decided to stick with the decision of getting operated because of the brand name of the hospital. He undergoes shoulder arthroscopy surgery on 14th March. He was asked not to eat or drink anything after 12am. The proposed time was 12pm on 14th march which was delayed by 3.5 hrs and finally he went for the surgery at 3.30pm. The surgery took place for 1.5-2hrs. He was in his senses when I reached hospital after my office hours. I was asked to bring coconut water for him as doctor advised to have the first thing to drink. I bought 3 of them but the security didn’t allow me to take it inside the ward. So I transferred the coconut water in water bottle. I was getting angry but for the first time I realized that getting angry will only create a problem for him, so I decided to be polite and do my thing as my main aim was to take the coconut water inside.

I called his wife and asked were they were? She guided me to the OT. She was crying man. She told me that my best friend was crying after coming into senses coz of severe pain in neck. Thank god I didn’t saw that scenario. As he was crying, his wife and father were also crying. The only one person who stands still facing the situation was his mom. She is a strong woman who knows how to deal in the difficult situation. Hats off to her, she is really great who manage to deal with the situation and instead of crying for her son she found the solution. The sling was tightly tied to his neck after operation that after coming to his senses he suddenly started feeling neck pain and because of it he started crying. With his mother’s strong will and sense of presence he was relief from pain in no time. That was the time I really felt what a mother and son shares. How a 34 yr man was crying in front of his mother and his mother she knows what he wants. Mothers are the world’s greatest gift in everybody’s life. She very well knows the pain of children and at time she gets so strong with the situation that instead of cursing the situation she fought with dual energy.

Finally it was my turn to meet him. This was the first time I entered the ICU. He was lying in front of me, trying to laugh but his face was full of grimace. I tried to be normal, we chatted for more then 10-15 min. He seems to be quite normal at that time. There was 3-4 more patient in that ICU. Everybody having there own stories. One of the patients was crying so much because of pain, that I was not able to stay in ICU.
I realized that doctor's life is so difficult, they have to deal with the human sufferings in there everyday life. I remembered my Pappa's word “I work with dedication, and when a person gets well because of me, I feel the great senses of satisfaction”. My dad is an anesthetist and he has served the humankind for more then 50 years. I feel great to be a doctor's daughter. I regret that I am not a doctor!!

After few hours he was shifted to the ward. Things seem to be normal but I can feel the tension in his family coz of his operation. At time of difficultly certainly one knows what a family is! What a family bounding is? The same can be seen in mother's love, Father's tension and his wife's caring.  I was happy that I also contributed a little to help his family at tough times. And that's the reason why friends are for.

The main thing I faced the next day was dealing with the insurance company and getting the discharge certificate. The doctor discharged him in morning around 9.30 pm and the formalities took 5 hours after that. He was finally discharged at 2.30 pm. The OT Voucher was missing which took 2 hours for the final settlement. After the number of requests it was finally sent to the billing department and then to the insurance company.

Anyway, All's well that ends well. Finally he is out from the hospital with a sling in his shoulder. He is recovering now. The anesthesia effect is no more and he is going through severe pain that he is not able to sleep.  Everything takes time, I hope within a day or two things will be normal and everything will be back to its place. I wish him all good health and energy to deal with this painful situation. Get well soon friend...Take care

When you mind and heart are on different paths..

I always thought as a human we all have same basic feelings and emotions. But the way we react to each situation is entirely different. Sometimes our mind and my heart both cannot go along for a similar situation and which results to a very serious confusion in Life. Many people face this in there life and they overcome it merely by balancing both. Recently I attended a 2hrs lecture session on stress management. And surprisingly I found that each person present in the room was somehow stressed including me. Though these stresses are part of life and can be overcome merely by giving time and understating thee priority at that point of time. Often we do few things in our life which we cherish throughout our life. At that point of time your mind and heart both are in same boat, complementing each other and looking for a single goal. That state of life is called as happiness. The second phase comes when your mind and heart doesn’t go along with each other. They simple contradict each other.

Have you ever noticed that if everything in your life is just normal still you mind is doing the thinking job? Yeah, many of us have noticed this because as eyes always see things, Nose always smell things, the same way mind always analyze things. The purpose of mind is to compare two situations with all its pros and cons and finally it’s always the heart who decides which paths to choose. If a constructive and positive path is chosen, the person is happy and has an aim to fulfill. Contradictory if the hear choose the wrong path the person instead f finding the solution ends up messing his own life. Mostly we spend time in diagnosis the particular situation/problem in our life instead of finding the solution to overcome it.

The only solution which I see is to get over the heart and mind when ever there is a negative situation. Sometime the things are not just mend for you. We should tamed our heart and ask our mind not to make any comparison in such cases and accept the situation in order to grow. We have to learn to choose between not every good and good situation. We have to ask every time that this situation goes along with me or not. You will immediately get the solution of your problem. You should practice this so that its becomes your habit.

Make the choice today. Just try it out. I think you’ll like it.

“The heart and the mind have the shortest distance but have the longest journey.”

Top 10 habits of women that annoy men the most :)

Never ordering a dessert, then eating mine
Ooh no, I'm full. I couldn't possibly eat any pudding, I'm stuffed," she says. And when my treacle pudding arrives she would have one spoon after another and finish the whole thing.

Failing to grasp that she moults
Every now and then her hair would block the shower plughole for which she would say, "That's not necessarily mine!"

Never packing enough books, or even any books, for a holiday
He'll make a huge fuss about capsule wardrobes but would never pack a book. Just a couple of magazines for the plane, which she leafs through in four minutes after which she grabs the fat thriller you've been looking forward to reading for months. She would hog it for a week, then leaves it on a boat when she's finished and says: "It was rubbish anyway."

Refusing to offer an opinion when asked for one
Which is so very different from not having an opinion. So if we're thinking of going out for dinner, for example, and you say: "What do you fancy, Chinese? Italian? A nice bit of sushi?"

She'll say: "I don't mind, whatever you feel like."
And when you book an Italian restaurant, she would say, "You know perfectly well that I HATE Italian food."

Constantly saying, "The thing that women find most attractive in a man is a sense of humour"
Which just isn't true. What women find attractive is tall, handsome, rich. That is what women find attractive. And that is all.

Giving up in the middle of every game
Chess or cribbage or tennis or croquet or absolutely anything - it happens the moment they go slightly behind and no longer look like winning.

Never being satisfied with a hotel room

When you arrive at your hotel after a long journey and flop yourself down on the bed, she'll stand in the middle of the room with her hands on her hips and say: "Well, this just won't do, it's supposed to have a view!" Then insist on seeing every single other room in the hotel, before actually deciding that the first room was fine, after all.

Thinking animals have feelings
I feel so sorry for that puppy, it looked so sad, it really wanted us to take it home." No, it's a dog. It does not feel sadness. It feels only hunger and the need to foul the pavement outside my house. It does not feel sad, or rejected, or worthless or unwanted.

Always leaving some awful pop music station on top volume in the car when she was the last one to drive it

So that when you get in on a cold morning to go to work, and switch the radio on expecting to hear the mellifluous mutterings of the Today programme, it instead blasts into shrieking life with some frightful oik bellowing rage into a voice-distorter over the sound of a huge drum kit being kicked down a hill by donkeys.

Secret of success: Get the mind-set of an ant!

Copied from

All of us tend to look up to big people for lessons on how to get better. We are keen to learn the secrets of their success. But we forget that sometimes the biggest lessons in life come from the smallest folks around us. Now that’s a good lesson to remember!
Take ants for instance. Would you believe those small creatures can teach us how to live a better life? Jim Rohn - the great motivational guru – developed what he called the ‘Ants Philosophy’.
He identified four key lessons from the behaviour of ants that can help us lead better lives. Jim Rohn is no more – but his messages continue to inspire. Here then, are the four lessons from Rohn’s ‘Ants Philosophy’.
1. Ants never quit. Have you noticed how ants always look for a way around an obstacle? Put your finger in an ant’s path and it will try and go around it, or over it. It will keep looking for a way out. It won’t just stand there and stare. It won’t give up and go back.
We should all learn to be like that. There will always be obstacles in our lives. The challenge is to keep trying, keep looking for alternative routes to get to our goals. Winston Churchill probably paraphrased the ant’s mindset when he offered this priceless advice: “Never give up. Never, never give up!”
2. Ants think winter all summer. Remember the old story of the ant and the grasshopper? In the middle of summer, the ant was busy gathering food for the winter ahead – while the grasshopper was out having a good time. Ants know that summer - the good times – won’t last forever. Winters will come. That’s a good lesson to remember. When the going is good, don’t be so arrogant as to believe that a crisis or a setback cannot happen to you. Be good to other people. Save for a rainy day. Look ahead. And remember, good times may not last, but good people do.
3. Ants think summer all winter. As they suffer through the unbearable cold of the winter, ants keep reminding themselves that it won’t last forever, and that summer will soon be here. And with the first rays of the summer sun, the ants come out – ready to work, ready to play. When we are down and seemingly out, when we go through what looks like a never-ending crisis, it’s good to remind ourselves that this too shall pass. Good times will come. It’s important to retain a positive attitude, an attitude that says things will get better. As the old saying goes, tough times don’t last. Tough people do.
4. Ants do all they possibly can. How much food does an ant gather in summer? All that it possibly can! Now that’s a great work ethic to have. Do all you can! One ant doesn’t worry about how much food another ant is collecting. It does not sit back and wonder why it should have to work so hard. Nor does it complain about the poor pay! Ants just do their bit. They gather all the food they can. Success and happiness are usually the result of giving 100% - doing all you possibly can. If you look around you, you’ll find that successful people are those who just do all they possibly can.
Follow the four simple steps of Jim Rohn’s ‘Ant Philosophy’ – and you’ll see the difference. Don’t quit. Look ahead. Stay positive. And do all you can.
And there’s just one more lesson to learn from ants. Did you know that an ant can carry objects up to 20 times their own weight? Maybe we are like that too. We can carry burdens on our shoulders and manage workloads that are far, far heavier than we’d imagine. Next time something’s bothering you and weighing you down, and you feel you just can’t carry on, don’t fret. Think of the little ant. And remember, you too can carry a lot more on your shoulders!

My Camera My Friend

“Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph. – Matt Hardy

Photography is a fun hobby unfortunately it can also be an expensive hobby. I got my first camera on my 13th Birthday. It was a film camera and was gifted to me by my loving Paapa. It was Kodak Kroma. I used it for more then 7 years. He was my first gear and a friend who captured so many great moments of my life.

Later I shifted to canon A400 Power shot. It was 3.2 mega pixel cameras that feature a 2.2x optical zoom. Again it was a gift from my parents. It was a point shoot camera and I shot numerous shot from it. It captured my entire college/hostel life. I used this gear for 4 years when one fine day my elder brother gifted me Sony DSC H50.

Sony DSC H50 is a 9.1 mega pixel 9.0 mega pixel Cyber-Shot camera .it has a powerful Carl Zeiss® 15x optical zoom lens with Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization to capture action at a distance. The camera also features a large, 3-inch tilting LCD screen so you can shoot comfortably from nearly any position, at low and high angles. It’s a bridge camera.

The camera’s versatile, long-distance flash is powerful enough to illuminate subjects more than 55 feet away (when using ISO 3200, wide angle).Noise reduction is now a user-selectable option, with high, low and standard settings, for greater control over the final look of images. He unit features extensive manual controls, including an exposure bracketing mode that newly includes settings for white balance and color modes. These function records three images, each with a different white balance or color mode applied, to help capture the ambience of the original scene. It has a smile shutter and face detection technologies with child or adult priority recognition. The body makes and futures of this camera seperates it from others point and shoot.

I currently owe this camera and I am using it from last 2 years. There are uncountable occasion where this friend of mine captured my unforgettable moments. I love this camera.

Further I wish to buy a DSLR as early as possible. I am looking forward for Canon EOS 60 D and with 18-250mm Sigma lenses.

I hope some day I will be a great photographer... Amen!

The Art of Self Appreciation

I have learned that doing things at right moments gives you more happiness then being holding it for long. But sometimes due to avoidable circumstances we often face this situation in our life. There is always a difference between what we want and what we get? So shall we stop hoping for it or shall continue our work without giving it any priority? To some extent we should.
I have learned that things don’t happen, its you who need to take the initiative and needs to complete it. Sooner or later the ball comes in your court. One should appreciate it, however sometimes when things don’t happen at the right time it looses its importance. On the other hand you are not always the reason behind everything that happens to you, it’s sometimes the environment, the people and their behavior that harm you.
One should appreciate himself no matter what people think about it. Remember, the most important thing is what we're like inside, not what we own or what we've accomplished. And Pl doesn’t compare yourself to other people. Sometimes that can make you feel good or even inspire you to improve in some way. But sometimes it can make you overlook what's truly good about yourself and make you sad. Self appreciation is helpful for going along not so good times in life. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not because what you now have was once among the things sometime you hoped for.

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”

What all the numbers and symbols mean on your camera?

It’s a problem almost as old as cameras. Manufacturers want to impart as much information as they can about an item, but they don’t have room on the product to place paragraphs of explaining information. So they invent a shorthand and while it helps them succinctly provide information, it doesn’t help us poor consumers who have to read it!
Today begins a series where I decipher the information on your camera so you know what each of those mysterious numbers and letters mean. Today I’ll start with camera lenses. I’ll discuss what’s printed on my SLR detachable lens – those of you with a Point and Shoot camera (with an inbuilt lens) won’t see all this information. However your lens will have most of these values printed in the user manual.

Let’s look at the markings on one of my older lenses – the Canon ES 75-300 lens.
Let’s start with the top and work our way down:
This gives almost all the information we need to know about the lens.

Canon Zoom Lens

Easy enough. This is the manufacturer and type of lens.

EF

This is the type of bracket this lens has to connect to the camera. EF stands for “Electro Focus” and tells us that this lens will fit on any camera using an EF bracket. This is most of the Canon SLR range.
Other manufacturers have different names for their brackets. Nikon has the F Mount, Pentax the K mount, and Sigma the AF mount. Lenses ‘talk’ to the camera through electronic contacts on the mount, and if the contacts don’t line up, the lens can’t auto-focus or change aperture on instructions from the camera. So when purchasing a lens, make sure the mount type matches your camera.

75-300mm

Taken with a telephoto lens
This is the focal length of the lens. While the millimeter number has a technical explanation, it basically tells us how far in or out the lens can zoom. P&S cameras use a ‘Zoom X’ rating that cannot be easily related to a mm number, and I will explain why next week!
Numbers in the 18-50mm range are classed as ‘Normal’ lenses and take photos that look similar to what you see with your eyes.
Lenses with a focal range above 50mm are classed as telephoto. These allow you to zoom in on the action. The higher the number, the further in your camera can zoom.
Numbers below 18 are classed as Wide Angle lenses. These show you more than a normal lens and are great for landscapes. Once you get smaller than about 16mm this is classed as a Fish Eye lens that produces the classical ‘looking out of a fish tank’ photo.

Taken with a fish eye lens
So with a 75-300mm range, this lens is a telephoto lens that can zoom in quite close. As it doesn’t handle 50mm I would not use this lens for landscape photos. Most lenses will be in the 18-70mm range allowing wide-angle landscape shots as well as the ability to zoom in if you need it.

1:4-5.6

This is the highest aperture of the lens. Aperture is used to control Depth of Field of the photo. So this lens can produce pictures with F4 (or F5.6 depending on how far the lens is zoomed in). With aperture, the number order is reversed so the higher the aperture, the smaller the number.
As a general guide, a lower number is better as it means you can not only take images with less ambient light in the room, but with a smaller Depth of Field. Note that the lower the number, the more expensive the lens will be!
This does not mean the lens can’t take photos with a larger aperture number (like F16 or F20) commonly used with landscape photos. The smaller number is usually more important to professionals, so that’s what they show us.
1:4 or 1:5.6 is a good maximum aperture to look for.
Now let’s look at the bottom of the lens.
The 75-300mm is the same number as above. What’s interesting here is the line beside the 75. This tells us the current focal point of the lens (75mm in this picture – fully zoomed out). If you zoom in with the lens, you will see the line moves towards the 300 number.
The flower image tells us the closest a subject can be from the lens and still be in focus. Other manufacturers use the word MACRO instead of a flower. This lens says 1.5m/4.9ft which isn’t too bad for a zoom lens, but the lens won’t be any good for macro work. Look for numbers smaller than 0.3m/1ft to do macro work.

Other Commonly Used Abbreviations

USM stands for Ultrasonic Motor. This abbreviation depends on the manufacturer (Nikon uses SWM, Sony uses SSM and Sigma uses SDM) but means that the lens has a motor inside that can move the lens quickly to change focus. Lenses without USM move more slowly, or have no auto-focus capability
IS – Image Stabilization. This feature of your lens helps to reduce the effects of camera shake on your image – particularly when a lens is zoomed in. The lens features tiny sensors that can monitor any shake and move the lens a small amount to counter the shake – resulting in a sharper image. If you can afford one, purchase a lens with IS.

Patience Patience ...

The more I try to fly the more I feel that I am standing on a marshy land. I keep thinking of all the things happening to me and I feel that I am getting inside the mud and it kind of makes me worried. I feel like a bird flying aimlessly in the sky. I know what I am doing today but I am so far away from my long term goals. Well, in my complete life God has given me so many opportunities to understand that human planning has no importance in front of his planning. So sometimes I really questioned myself that whether I should Plan anything or should live the life as it come to me...A day to day living ..
Sometimes I feel pity on myself and sometime I am angry with me for not trying anything. But when I try for anything things doesn’t turn in my favor (80% of the time). However with a recent happening in my life I completely feel that I should stop trying for any change. It only makes my present more pathetic. I always keep on saying that God has some more interesting plans so he keeps altering my plans frequently. I trust him...He is preparing me for not so good days. Enjoying...I hope I will find my answers very soon..He is only asking me to keep faith and have patience..

Om Sai Ram..
